Passover Parsley

Passover Parsley

A friend of mine, named B-Kind, heard thru the vine, I was growing these organic green parsley delights!

He asked, “Do you care, to share your greens, with nice Jewish beings, at my aunt and uncle’s Brentwood home for a Passover Seder?”

I said, “Yes, but I’ve never been to one before, are you sure they’ll let me in when I knock on their door?”

“Of course!” He exclaimed.

“And on this night, would you like to recite, before taking a bite, a blessing for all the fruits of the earth?” B questioned.

Curious & inspired, I asked through the wire, “Can I bless the parsleys, while I play the ivory keys?”

“Of course, Miso!” He kindly responded.

“Only thing, you have to do, is say the prayer for the karpas in Hebrew!”

I said, “Sure, I can learn the words!”

So I studied, I wrote, a melody with a note. I practiced, I prayed, I chanted, I played – believing in myself every step of the way!

And on that night, I sang the prayer alright – I may stumble & fumble but refuse to crumble.

Feels damn good, blessing the universe,  for all our freedoms and the fruits of the earth.

Oh yeah, I also found a brand new love, a heavenly gift sent from up above.

Her name is Pam – Sammy Davis’ granddaughter – we connected eyes as she passed the salt-water.

It was a festive affair all wine – no beer – if you feel inclined you can listen in and hear…..

On a side note, I want to thank Joseph Jacobson for letting a stranger in his home and leading a spectacular service.  You have taught me we are all the chosen people no matter what religion – our spirits are one!

And of course, thank you to all the fruits and vegetables on this earth.  You make me feel healthy, alive, and I think about you everyday!
